the area
The lodge sits on over 4 acres of wooded mountainside in the Aska Adventure Area, and abuts the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Park. Enjoy hiking, mountain biking, tubing, high ropes course, and canopy zip line just minutes away! For the kids, there’s also mini golf, gem mining, a great playground, and a comic book store. And, of course, the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad! Take a 45 minute ride each way, enjoying an hour or two to get a snack and shop in Maccaysville/Coppertown. While you’re here, be sure to stop by the Expedition: Bigfoot museum in nearby Cherry Hill (they also have a shop on Main Street), and visit Mercier Orchards for mouth watering seasonal produce and goodies, including hard cider. The Swan Drive-In Theater shows movies every night! For more railroad fun, the Great Smoky Mountain Railway is just over an hour away. You’ll want to stay a while so you can do it all - and come back soon to do it again!
Of course, you’ll spend a fair bit of time here eating and drinking. The lovely town of Blue Ridge, GA boasts several wonderful restaurants, many featuring local trout and emphasizing fresh farm-to-table ingredients as well as craft cocktails and local beer and wines. There are several breweries in or near the town, and coffee, tea, candy, cupcake, and ice cream shops.
Main Street is filled with local artisans, unique household goods and clothing, furniture, used books, and antiques. There’s even a storefront for the nearby Bigfoot Museum! You can easily spend a day walking, eating, drinking, and shopping - and enjoying the friendliness of a small southern town with modern upscale taste! Perhaps you’ll even find time to visit one of the spas for a relaxing massage. I’m sure you will fall in love with this town and return again and again.
